With competitive teams for women and men across multiple adult age groups, VAFC offers a clear pathway from youth soccer into lifelong play—making us one of the Lower Mainland’s few truly complete, all-in-one soccer clubs.
Our adult teams compete in both the winter and spring/summer seasons in their respective leagues. If you are interested in joining for an upcoming season, please contact our Director of Adult Teams below for more information about schedules and registration.
VAFC is home to female and male adult players competing at a variety of levels. Many players in the program are former VAFC youth players who continue their love of the game into adulthood, while others are coaches, referees, or parents within the club. We believe strongly in the value of soccer and team sports in teaching life lessons, building character, creating community, and supporting healthy, active lifestyles at every age.
VAFC’s men’s teams play in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League, while VAFC’s women’s teams play in the Metro Women’s Soccer League.

Assessments for adult players are typically held during the month prior to the start of each season, although teams with available roster space may continue to add new players during the season.
The winter season runs from September to March each year. We offer women’s and men’s competitive Open age (18+) play at multiple levels, as well as competitive men’s Masters’ age (35+, 45+ and 55+) play. Games are typically played on Friday nights and/or Sunday mornings and afternoons. Teams in the winter leagues also compete for berths in the BC Soccer Provincial Cup tournament each year.
The spring/summer season runs from April to June for the women’s teams and from April to July for the men’s teams. As in the winter season, we field teams across multiple competitive age groups and ability levels, including women’s and men’s competitive Open age (18+) teams, competitive women’s Masters’ age (30+) teams, and competitive men’s Masters’ age (35+, 45+ and 55+) teams.
Answers to the most common questions about adult soccer at VAFC.
The registration process for adult players is different from the process used for youth players. Adult players must first be assessed before being accepted onto a team, and then registered directly through the league in which that team competes. Registration details are provided to players once they have been accepted to a team.
All adult teams play both home and away matches against other teams in their respective leagues, and most teams play a balanced schedule. Because VAFC is a large club, our teams play on different days of the week. Combined with limited field availability, this means there is no single home field for all adult teams.
During the past winter season, our women’s teams played home games at Andy Livingstone Park, Van Tech School, and Jericho Turf, while our men’s teams played home games at Trillium Park, Empire Turf, and Memorial South Turf.
Depending on the level of play and field availability, training typically takes place once or twice a week, along with one game on the weekend.
Because earlier field times are prioritized for youth teams, adult training sessions typically begin after 8:00 pm, depending on field availability.
New players are assessed in training by team coaches to determine whether there is a good fit. Successful trialists are then invited to register.
