New Player Evaluations
Fall/Winter 2026/27 Soccer Season
Vancouver Athletic FC welcomes new players who are interested in joining VAFC for the Fall/Winter 2026/27 season.
New Player Evaluations are for players who are new to VAFC and are looking to join one of our U11–U18 teams. This includes players that may have played for another club, academy, or city, as well as players interested in competitive levels of play.
At VAFC, we believe in placing players in an environment where they can thrive, develop, and enjoy the game. Evaluations help our coaching staff assess each player’s skills, abilities, and potential so players can be placed at an appropriate level for their development.
Parents are welcome to attend evaluations, but are asked to remain off the field so coaches can run the sessions effectively.
Which age groups and divisions are still accepting players?
Girls U11-U18 teams (players born 2009-2016): Division 2 and 3 are open for evaluations | Division 1 teams are full
Boys U11-U13 (players born 2014-2016): Division 2 and 3 are open for evaluations | Division 1 teams are full
Boys U14-U16 (players born 2011-2013): All divisions are full; waitlisting only for div 3
Boys U17/U18 (players born 2009 & 2010): all divisions open for evaluations
Who Should Attend?
New Player Evaluations are for:
- Players who are new to VAFC and wish to join a U11–U18 team
- Players with past experience with another club, academy, or city
- Players interested in competitive levels of play
U5–U10 New Players
Players in U5–U10 who are new to VAFC do not need to attend evaluations.
Families should register through the VAFC registration system. VAFC will follow up when teams are formed.
U11–U18 New Players
Players in U11–U18 who are new to VAFC are required to participate in the evaluation process.
Evaluations generally take place in the spring and summer, and the evaluation schedule will be posted here. For evaluations outside of this timeframe, please reach out to registrar@vafc.ca.

Vancouver, BC

After Evaluations
Following evaluations, players will be assigned to appropriate teams where space is available. Families will be notified of placements by email.
If further discussion is needed, VAFC coaching staff will provide guidance and feedback where possible.
