Become a Team Manager

Thinking about becoming a Team Manager? It’s one of the most impactful ways to support your child’s team and help create a great experience for players, coaches, and families.

Team Managers are the backbone of every VAFC team. As a volunteer—often a parent—you play a key role in creating a positive team experience, helping everything run smoothly off the field so players can focus on enjoying the game.

You don’t need prior experience—just a willingness to help, stay organized, and communicate with families. It’s a highly rewarding role where you’ll build connections, support your child’s development, and make a meaningful impact on the team’s season. The club provides tools, guidance, and support every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate team communication, including practice schedules, game details, and updates
  • Track player availability to ensure teams are organized for games and training
  • Support the coach by directing questions about playing time, positions, and selection appropriately
  • Maintain basic team records (e.g., player cards, scores, and game information)
  • Assist with registration requirements and liaise with club staff when needed
  • Help foster a positive, respectful environment among players and families
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the team, parents, and the club
