Give your child a confident, joyful start in soccer with VAFC Grasshoppers.
Grasshoppers is VAFC’s professionally led parent-and-child soccer program for children ages 2 and 3. Every session is delivered by trained, certified VAFC coaches who understand how to engage young children and create a positive first experience with sport.
At this age, the focus is about much more than soccer. Through energetic, age-appropriate activities, children develop confidence, coordination, balance, agility and early ball skills—all in a fun, welcoming environment that keeps them moving and involved.
What truly sets VAFC apart is what comes next.
Grasshoppers is the first step in one of Vancouver’s most complete player-development pathways. As children grow, they can progress into VAFC’s Juniors, Skills Centre and Divisional programs, supported by the same club, the same development philosophy and the same commitment to quality coaching.
Many introductory programs end after one season. VAFC is built for the long term.
With more than 3,000 players and a clear pathway from first kicks through divisional and high-performance soccer, VAFC offers families continuity, professionalism and meaningful development at every stage.
If you want your child to have fun, build confidence and join a club they can grow with for years to come, Grasshoppers is the place to begin.
This fall, VAFC is partnering with Vancouver community centres to bring Grasshoppers to more families across the city. All sessions are 45 minutes and are designed for children ages 2–3 with a participating parent or caregiver.
Registration is managed through each community centre. Spaces are limited. Clicking on the links below will take you to the registration pages.
