VAFC Divisional soccer is our program for players in the U11–U18 age groups (ages 10–17) who are ready for a more structured team environment, with regular training, weekend league play, and a greater focus on development and competition. Players are grouped by age and ability and placed on teams that best match their current stage, creating a positive and appropriately challenging environment in which they can improve, build confidence, and continue enjoying the game. Divisional teams compete against other Lower Mainland clubs in the BC Coastal Soccer League (BCCSL), with travel requirements varying by division and schedule.
To determine a player's age group, match the birth year on the table below:

The Fall/Winter Divisional League is VAFC’s main season, running from September through late February or early March. Some teams may continue playing beyond the regular season if they qualify for Coastal Cup or championship competitions.

Practices are held on available turf or gravel fields. Exact days, times, and locations depend on field allocations and the team’s schedule.
Teams are formed by the team’s head coach and VAFC’s technical staff. Returning VAFC players are assessed throughout the season and do not normally attend an open evaluation. Players new to VAFC at U11–U18 must participate in a New Player Evaluation to support appropriate team placement.
Registration for the following Fall/Winter season typically opens in February. Registering early is recommended, as late registrants may be placed on a waitlist.
Registration for the 2026/27 Fall/Winter Divisional season is now open.
To guarantee a spot, players must register by June 1. Registrations after this date will be accepted based on availability and do not guarantee placement.
The Spring Cascadia League is a separate, shorter season for U11–U18 players, running approximately from April through June. It gives returning and new players an opportunity to continue developing, play additional competitive games, and remain connected to a team during the spring.
The season typically includes eight weekend games, with approximately four at home and four away. Travel is required for away games. Training schedules vary depending on the team, division, coaching availability, and field allocation.
VAFC enters teams based on:
Not every Fall/Winter team automatically participates in Cascadia. Players whose regular VAFC team is not entering, as well as players who are new to VAFC, may still register for the spring season. Placement is confirmed after suitable rosters and coaching staff have been finalized.
Spring registration typically opens in February. Players register directly through PowerUp, and any player whom VAFC is unable to place on a suitable team will receive a refund.
